OUR
MINISTRIES
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10
No Empty Bowls Pantry
First Baptist Springfield is involved in local and international ministries. Locally we sponsor a food pantry for any who are hungry. Hours for the No Empty Bowls pantry are: Thursdays, 11:00-1:00 pm. If you would like to help they are in need of food donations: Cereal, canned fruits, Pasta, Spaghetti sauce, canned corn, jellies, Syrup, Krusteaz Pancake mix. We also need toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap and laundry detergent. If you prefer you can purchase a gift card that will be used to purchase perishables.
Youth Ministry
Ignite gathers Sunday morning before service 9:30-10:25am. We eat snacks, hear stories, play games, craft and worship together.
Cookie Time 10:30-11 Sunday. Youth are invited to volunteer to help with the coffee time. Setting up, serving and helping to clean up allows them time to engage with the congregation
On the 2nd & 4th Sundays of each month Ignite leaves worship during the sermon and heads to the classroom for a deep dive study on the same topic covered in the service.
Adult Small Group Study:
Sunday Morning 9:30-10:30
Did you ever want to know more about a particular aspect of religion? Then join this group which has studied the Revelation of John, how to grow your soul, the most important event in history, and the Alluring Assassin Judith, along with many other topics, all to discover enrichment for our own Christian adventure. The class selects its course of study, acquires resources, and comes together to search and understand its application to our lives today. The leader guides our exploration of each topic. Join us for this exciting group as we walk together into the future the Lord has for us.
"The Chosen" Small Group
Using a unique format to study bible passages, this group watches an episode of The Chosen drama series about the life of Jesus through the eyes of those who followed him one week then has a discussion about each episode and how it applies to life today.

This group will take a brief break for July and August.
Friday Bible Study
Our group started about 6 years ago. We meet every Friday for about one hour, in the home of Ron and Jan Stanley. We are a casual group of 4-5 people meeting to read the Lectionary readings suggested for the week. Several versions of the Bible are read. It helps to give better understanding of message. It is a wonderful time of fellowship, sharing one’s thoughts and needed prayer.
Praise Team & Handbells
FBCS welcomes all who would like to make joyful noise for the Lord to participate in our music ministry. Our handbell choir plays during worship 2-3 times per year and has practice Sundays after service periodically throughout the year.
Our praise team is a mix of vocals and instrumentalists led by our director of music. They can be heard during worship once per month.
We love music and welcome musicians to share their talents and special music with the congregation. For more information please get in touch with one of our Pastors or our music director!
